Great mid to deep cranking rod!! I love mine. Incredibly light for a glass rod and surprisingly sensitive. Perfect balance which is typical for Dobyns. I really like the full cork handle and the handle length is great for this specific technique. I won’t get a chance to really put it through its paces until late next spring and summer but I find myself looking for a reason to use it. I’ve been throwing a Bomber Fat Free Shad Jr and DT-10 which is on the lower end of it’s lure rating. But it has handled those fine and launches them a mile. I can’t wait until next summer offshore on the Tennessee River! Ledges, humps, rock piles, deep points etc… I’ll be throwing a DD22, Duo Realis G87 20 and Berkeley Dredger 25.5 which is really the type plugs the rod will shine with. I’ve paired mine with a Shimano Curado 200 K with a 5.0:1 gear ratio. I was lucky to find that particular reel in stock at BPS. 12 lb Sunline FC Sniper. Great job Dobyns another excellent purchase for me!! 5 stars 10/10 perfect rating!! I’m a Dobyns guy for life!

This rod is great! I’m a fan of composite blanks and no one does it better than Dobyns. It fishes light, is not cumbersome at all and can launch such a wide range of bait weights. The very first fish I nabbed on this rod were book end four pounders on a 6th Sense Cloud 9-20. Best rod investment ever.
