I do a lot of fishing in the Northeast (NY, NJ, PA) on many very high pressured lakes. finesse techniques are often the best way to pull a shy bass or 2 and i hate spinning rods. the 702c allows me to finesse fish without having to use spinning gear…very light, very good sensitivity, extremely well balanced (especially with a baitcaster under 6 ounces) i just love the rod. the rod will handle larger fish with no issue but still has a softer tip to allow for lighter baits. if you want to fish lighter baits on a baitcaster this is the rod…PS: went on a smallmouth trip to Maine…alot of 2-3 lb smalls in the lake i fished..!/4 ounce underspin with 3 in swimbait all day on this rod, over 100 fish, what a freaking blast.

When I say this is the best rod on the market I mean it. The only rod I think that could top this is the Extreme HP. This rod has all the features anglers want. A comfy grip, extreme sensitivity and lightweight. I have the 702C paired with a Team Lews Magnesium ACB. The overall weight must be 10-12 ounces. It is truly incredible. I’ve landed big fish on the medium action rod wothout problems. I plan on buying more champions as I am starting to fish tournaments. If you dont have a Champ get you one and you won’t regret it. Scared of the price tag? Dont be.
