Added a use for this rod. I used it all season throwing the Z-man Swag line through 5″ swimbait. I lost count of how many bass I’ve caught with it. The rod casts it great, has the power to set the hook at the end of a long cast, and is not too bulky to use for hours on end. My second one has been my frog rod. Also a killer use. It’s become my fave frog rod.

Update on my last review. The 705 has become my favorite frog rod, and I’m still using it for whopper ploppers and sometimes Magdraft with belly hook.
Took it out of jig rotation for now. I love how light/balanced it feels for walking a frog, and the 7′ length is just perfect for me too.

I was looking for a 7′ heavy for Whopper Ploppers, Jigs, occasional frogging, and heavy spinner baits, and the 705 fits the bill perfectly.
It has a nice taper, so the tip has a little give for casting and feeling bites. It’s very well balanced and pretty light feeling in the hand.
The cork could be better quality, but it looks and feels ok. Over all a great bass rod for baits on the heavier side.
It’s very comfortable to fish with.
