I did my review a while ago. But I realized I put it under the wrong reel. So I figured I would write another one. One reason is my opinion of it has changed. When I got it I hated it. I was thinking of selling it or trading it for something else. At first, I had issues with backlashing. I know what people will say. You need to learn it. Well, I have 5 other baitcasters and I have no problems. Then I heard My Dobyns say they almost made it too smooth with so many bearings. So I kept adjusting the brakes until I could cast it. I have a lot more brake on it than the other reels. But it still outcasts them. And by a lot. I’d say 20% at least. So I kept using it. I have been able to back off the brakes a little bit. Now I love it. I wish I could get a few more. It’s a great value. If I had to pick a negative. It would be the body. It is a composite plastic and it does not feel very strong. I can feel it moving when fighting a fish. I have 2 other composite reels and they feel a lot stronger. And you can get them on Amazon for $30-45. But I would pay double for the Dobyns. The pluses outweigh the one negative.
