Boy this rod is such a pleasure to fish with. The 805 Flip/punch champion extreme has long been my favorite rod in the Dobyns line up ( I personally consider it the best punch rod on earth and I’ve tried them all) but this 784 is giving it a run for its money. I use this rod to “swim” 3/8 to 1/2 oz swim jigs in deeper hydrilla on lake Seminole and it performs that role flawlessly.
Very light and quick tip for imparting some action on the jig and when I hit a clump of hydrilla it has the perfect weight to pop it free which is usually when the bite happens. Sensitivity is outstanding with 30 lb braid. Plenty of strength to get the big girls out of the grass. Tremendous Rod!

This is a very unique rod. I use if for CRig if bite is finicky and it is incredible with a weightless senko.

This rod is one of my favorite rods in the Dobyns lineup. At the deep water reservoirs here in California I often drag 1/2oz to 3/4oz football jigs and Keitech’s in 30 to 70 feet of water. The length helps me pick up a lot of line on those deep water hook sets and the sensitivity at depth is incredible!
When I transition from the deep water reservoirs to the Delta and Clearlake, this rod becomes my 5″ to 6″ Senko rod. The tip on this rod allows me to cast and flip Senko’s with precision and the backbone gets those big fish out and away from heavy cover. No matter where I’m fishing I always have 2 of these rods rigged up!

This has become one of my favorite rods. I fish a lakes that are 30-35 feet deep and this rod handles my 1/2oz – 1oz jigs like a dream. Super light, very sensitive and I can always feel like my bait making contract with the bottom. Has great power to rip through weeds and great hook setting power even on long casts in deep water.

In my opinion, the DX 784C is the crown jewel of the Dobyns lineup. This is my favorite. Hands down. This is not a “do everything” rod. If versatility is what you are looking for, take a look at the DX 744C or the DC 734C. However, if you want to own the absolute best rod made for casting and dragging football jigs and C-rigs, this is your rod. You will feel the quality of this rod when you make a cast with it. Whenever someone asks me if it’s worth spending money for a premium rod, this is the rod I hand them. The fast action allows you to make long casts, even with a strong wind in your face. Sensitivity is second-to-none. It really allows you to read the bottom and feel what is down there. It has plenty of backbone to drive home the hook, even with a ton of line out. Put your best, high-speed reel on this rod. Spool it with 20lb fluorocarbon. And tie on your favorite 3/4oz. football jig. You won’t be disappointed.

A lot of people love to use flipping stick style rods around docks – but many of them do not match up well with smaller finesse style jigs like we use at Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock. This rod does the job! A true jig rod that you can flip 5/16 oz round heads around docks and cover, or pitch to far targets. — Not to mention this is one of the best 1/2 oz football jig rods out there for long cast, and solid hook ups. LOVE this rod.

This is the rod that really sold me on Dobyns. It is very unique in power and action. If I could only fish one rod, this would be the rod that fit my style of fishing. You can drag a Carolina rig or a football jig in 30+ feet of water and maintain excellent contact with your bait and detect bottom composition changes, bites, everything. Great blend of power and sensitivity. The tip is very fast and shuts down into a powerful backbone aiding in deep water hook sets in my opinion. It also excels as a pitching stick for jigs, 6″ senkos, Texas rigs and works VERY well with flutter spoons on ledges.

The DX 784C is just what its says, on awesome jig rod, evrything from throwing football heads out deep on ledges or points to a pretty good flipping rod. This is also my go to rod for casting big worms on 3/8-1/2oz tungsten out deep or carolina rigs and is one killer flutter spoon rod, the length of this rod allows you to take up a ton of line on those long cast. This is definitely a more versatile rod than just a jig rod.

My favorite rod in the lineup. The versatility with this rod is amazing. Handles football jigs, carolina rigs, t-rigs, jigs and just about anything you can throw at it. The tip of this rod is something special.
