I spend a lot of time researching and deciding which Dobyns rod to purchase. I’m proud to tell you that I made an excellent choice 6 months ago. This rod is incredible!! The power & backbone, sensitivity, soft tip and balance can deliver on multiple applications. I use it for frogs, 3/8oz & up jigs, pitchin’, swim jigs w/ 5″ swimbait trailer and bladed jigs but it’s capable of much more. I’m hooked! Just ordered 3 more Dobyns Rods in the past couple weeks!

If I could only have one rod to fish everything in my tackle box….this could well be it. It’s a little stiff for cranking in my opinion but Dobyns has that taken care of BUT for everything else the 735C is one of my go to rods. From Flipping, Pitching or Casting Plastics, Jigs, fishing a Frog or the Ultimate Swimmin Toad Road, I throw Hollow Belly Swimbaits, Bladed Jigs, Spinnerbaits and even Buzzbaits on this rod. Ever angler needs an All Around Performer and this the Utility Rod you MUST have in your rod locker….I have several because of the Versatility it can do. Perfect tip action and backbone and so balanced that it feels like a feather in your hand!

By far one of the most versatile rods I’ve ever used! Pitch’n, Flip’n, Frog’n, Chatterbaits, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, Swimbaits, Swim Jigs, Grass Jigs, Flip’n Jigs, Football Head Jigs, Texas Rigs, Carolina Rigs, even Flutter Spoons and Jigging Spoons…
Basically if it’s got a single hook you can throw it on this rod!

As an avid frog fisherman I have put the 735c through its paces, throwing everything from hollow-bodies to buzz toads, and in my opinion you wont find a better frog rod on the market today.
Gary has created a rod with the right amount of tip to perfectly work your frog back to the boat while maintaining the backbone needed to pull big fish out of heavy cover.

If you like to throw frogs then this is the rod for you. The 735C is an all around work horse. I use this rod for open water frogging, heavy jigs, and large top water baits. The rods is balanced so it won’t wear you out after a long day on the water and is sensitive that you won’t miss a bite. It’s also great for small swimbaits and flipping.
Chad Bennett –
Ultimate frog rod if you ask me. I always have a frog tied on this rod. This rod also excels at slow rolling big spinnerbaits and big swim jigs.

I have used many of other rods for my frogs and many of times have not been able to quickly send the power needed to that bait and get the fish coming quick enough resulting in losing that fish. The first time I set up on a solid fish in thick vegetation I soon realized what I’ve been missing. This rod has a great tip for working your frog and giving it unsurpassed action but the backbone of this rod was unbelievable. If you like working frogs in thick cover/vegetation then look no further.
