20lb flouro and 1/2oz jig is what lives on mine 90% of the time. I’ve used it to pitch plastic but prefer 765 for that. I like a it for a popping frog or more open water frogging. It’s got a good tip to cast and walk a frog. Throws a 168 s wavers, 3/4oz swim baits, and big night time spinnerbaits with out a problem. It loads up good and has plenty of power. It’ll stick em good with a big hook.

I use this rod for frog fishing and it has handled some of the biggest frog fish for me without issue! It’s also a solid jig rod if you’re on a budget and can’t go to the extremes.

This rod is a must-have. Incredible value and perfect for frogs, 1/2 oz top 3/4 oz jigs, heavy texas rigs, plopper 130s, etc. Pure power, well-balanced, and fairly light for a rod of it’s length and power. Also, good sensitivity. Recently caught 12 on a deep ledge on a jig–many on subtler bites. I love this workhorse.

Have not had a chance to use this rod yet but I already know how great it is. You cannot go wrong with any Dobyns Rod. Read my reviews about the Champion 704CB or Extreme 742SX and you will see what I mean. I have a small Hud tied on with 14# test and cannot wait to start slinging it around these NorCal lakes.

My SS735c’s are my workhorses. Probably the best all-purpose rod on the market today. Froggin’, Toadin’, Punching, Flippin’, Pitchin’ and, Swimbaits…..the 735 handles all these tasks and more for me. Plenty of backbone when you need it, plenty of sensitivity, too. I regularly cast 3/8 oz. finesse jigs with this rod, also.
