Jack –
This rod is great for frogs. Since fishing topwater frogs is a visual bite, your eyes are pretty much the sensitivity If that makes sense so there is no need to spend a whole lot on a rod for that. I also throw jigs in the 735. I wouldn’t go less than a 3/8 oz though. We’ll balanced Sensitive rod and the cork is better than the savvy line IMO

I wanted a dedicated frog rod. I don’t get to fish a frog often but needed an affordable hollow body frog only stick. The 735C was my choice and is the deal. Power to spare and a tip that loads extremely well. Long casts are effortless. I am so impressed with my Fury. This model would be an incredible pitchin/jig rod too. Kudos to Gary Dobyns and the Dobyns team.

This rod is definitely the workhorse rod in the new Fury lineup. I’ve been mainly frog fishing with it. Very Well balanced with a extremely fast tip. Great rod for fishing hollow body frogs. It has the power to able you to “horse” them out of the nasty stuff! Very well please with the performance and it’s a great price point that will not damage the angler pocket who is on a budget.

I fish in North Central California. I bought this rod to replace a more expensive Phoenix that was stolen out of my truck. From the moment I picked this rod up I have loved it. It’s very well balanced and cast great. I fish a lot of soft body frogs in heavy grass and this rod more than delivered. This is my first Dobyns Rod and I’m sold! Paired with my Abu Garcia ProMax I have found my go to set up.

This was my first dobyns because like most I listened to tactical bassin. For the price point the rod is stout and has a solid feel. I used it for flipping around trees and it handles big fish with no problem.
Foothills Militia –
Great rod I use it for flipping a jig. I’ve caught many 5-7lb bass and I’ve caught a 11lb bass on this rod and it handles those fish well. The eyes are a bit of a problem though, they come out of the resin after a month or two. I just use superglue as soon as I buy a rod now and that helps to prevent problems with the eyes. Dobyns and FXCustom rods are the best on the market right now. I recommend the fury series to anyone wanting to buy a rod for just about any type of bait.

I really like this rod overall. This was my first ever Dobyns rod and I will continue to buy more. This has mainly just became a do everything rod for me and I mainly throw braided Texas rigs and swim jigs. The one complaint I have about this rod is that the guides will fall off sometimes. And that handle seems really short. I would recommend throwing frogs in more open water but not too thick of stuff on this and not flip with anything over 3/4 ounce. You can but it just doesn’t take it as well. If you’re debating between Dobyns and another brand go with Dobyns you won’t be disappointed.

Bounced between a few frog rods before trying the Fury 735C, has made a tremendous impact on my hook up ratios. Well balanced with the perfect feel for a frog rod. I fish a frog from May-Sept and this thing is always rigged and ready.

Do you want a great rod for half the price throwing Magdrafts, Sweeps, and Bullshads? This is your rod! It doubles as a heavy jig and frog rod. I need two of them.
