I purchased this rod to throw primarily deep diving crank baits. I have been very impressed with the tip, parabolic bend through the rod, and the backbone in the lower section. This rod does well throwing 10 foot divers and also well throwing up to 20 foot divers. If you are looking for a rod to handle up to your 6xd, DD 22, etc… and also smaller divers such as sk 5 and 5xd series, then this is your rod! It also can handle a trap very well and gives you increased casting distance and backbone to rip a lure out of the grass. Excellent all around crank bait rod! Highly recommend.

This new fury 703c is an excellent all around rod for close measures. This rod is perfect for small top waters such as poppers and walking baits. Also, this rod fishes a senko very well. The overall quality cannot be beat at this price point!

the guy at the fishing store handed me this when i asked him to suggest an “all-arounder” for my newly found Kayak bass fishing addiction. i paired it with a Shimano SLX DC, which aesthetically clashes, but whatever. the pair just works for me. granted i am not an in-tuned veteran fisherman. i just cast and cast and cast..hopefully i get a fight or two for my efforts. i initially thought it was too heavy feeling, since i only finesse fished up until now. but man-o-man, has this rod grown on me. i love it. it pinned a big bass on a chatterbait and it came to my boat begrudgingly, but it had no choice. i winched it in. this rod feels great and just oozes confidence for me. one day, i will find Mr (or Mrs) Big and there is no doubt my rod can handle it. i have since discovered it is actually very light. if it is Med-Heavy, it is on the lighter side of that spectrum. i have tossed jigs with it, and they cast fine. how they feel, i dunno. i cannot get a bass to cooperate. at Clearlake, it did catch me a good bass on a jerkbait. i will buy another 703, or a 704 for the elusive Jig-bass i so desperately want to catch. the handle is perfect for my style of kayak fishing. seems to clear my fat PFD girth just fine. the PFD is fat, not me. :)
