I love all my dobyns swimbait rods! Since the release of this amazing rod, I find this one is in my hands the most. The 8″ hudd is the smallest bait I throw with it and it flicks it like its nothing. when you stick a double digit bass on this rod you can have the confidence to hog that sucker in! I have landed 9 bass over 10 lbs with this rod and am looking forward to 100’s more. If you throw or plan to throw 250 size swimbaits this is a must have rod, you will fall in love with it! Dobyns, you are always on the leading edge with your rods! Thanks so much!!!

I needed a swimbait rod to throw the Deps 250 SS and had heard great things about the Dobyns 867 so I bought one. It instantly became my favorite swimbait rod! It throws the Deps 250 SS a country mile with very little effort. It out casts all my high end custom swimbait rods and has enough sensitivity to throw the 8inch hudd and feel even the lightest tick. Combine all that with the great Dobyns warranty, customer service, and reasonable cost, and I feel comfortable recommending it to all my friends. g man

I have owned several high end swimbait rods but I must say, this one puts them all to shame, with its superior balance and light weight I can sling a swimbait a country mile without fatigue, this rod is light in weight and beastly on backbone, I fish saltwater bass tournaments and when I fish structure this rod will flat out get em, great job…I’ll surely look at the rest of the lineup.

I started with the 795ML and then moved up to the 806…I have been using that to throw my Deps 250’s and Baitsmith Magnums and it did the job…However I just got my my 867 and after using it to throw those (2) baits I mentioned above all I can say is WOW!!! The 867 is a whole different animal…Throws these baits with ease and I just landed an 8# on a Hinkle Shad…The rods sensitivity is superb and it manhandled the fish easily…Very happy with my purchase as I have been with all my prior Dobyns rods…YELOSUB

I love the 867 for throwing heavier swimbaits like the Deps 250 or 8-inch Spro BBZ, it has fantastic sensitivity, strength, and fish-holding ability. It is just not the right rod for me as I primarily fish from a float tube. The handle on this one is super long and really gets in the way. Wish there was a similar rod with a shorter handle like the rest of the series.
