Frank Darwicki –
I bought one of these rods a few years ago for throwing heavier cranks and lipless. It is a fantastic rod for those, but I discovered it is an excellent chatterbait rod!!! I virtually use it exclusively for those now. It is on my deck all spring, summer and fall. I also use it for swimbaits, glidebaits and whopper ploppers. It is one of my favorite rods !!! You can use it for so many applications. Great quality too!!! Still holding up perfectly after several years of heavy use. Plus, you just can’t beat Dobyn’s warranty and broken rod policy!!!! Ninety five percent of my rods are Dobyn’s and I have zero regrets.

This is one of my favorite Dobyns Rods. With the exception of spinning rods and swimbait rods, I have tried owned and tried every Champion, Champion Extreme and Extasy. I own 3 of these DC706cb’s and I have never had a crankbait on one! They are simply the easiest way to cast moving baits with or without trebles. They load up well to roll cast accurately and non fatiguing all day. They CB series which just means they are parabolic which is what you want in a moving bait rod. Don’t use this if your bait is going to lay on the bottom but it is my spinnerbait rod, buzzbait rod, chatterbait (no grass otherwise use the XP746cb) lipless (same thing,,, if you’re ripping, use the 746cb) It is also my walking topwater rod. You don’t hear a lot about this rod because everyone assumes it is a 6 power crankbait rod…. it isn’t… it is a 7′ parabolic rod with lots of backbone. Pick up a 706cb and a 746cb and try them for you moving baits….. it is next level.

I pondered on this rod for a long time, then I pulled the trigger. Absolutely, Positively, & Without a Doubt my favorite Squarebill and Big Flatside crankbait rod period!!! I have yet to throw spooks on it but, it’s gonna be great for it. Now I gotta get about 3 more, thanks Gary for what you build and what you do. Us fisherman truly appreciate it!!!

This is the rod for1.5 to 2.5 squarebills on 12-15# test. The 706cb is also awesome for topwater, and lipless baits. Truly the most versatile CB rod in the lineup in my opinion.

This is one of the most versatile crankbait rods I have ever used. If you are like me you like a graphite crankbait rod but feel that most do not have enough power to throw any bait that dives deeper than 8 foot. This rod changes that. The heavy power has enough backbone to handle a variety of baits and the moderate action is perfect for fighting those fish on treble hooks. This rod loads perfect and can handle big fish. I also use this rod for rattletraps, topwater, small buzzbaits and small spinnerbaits.
