I love this rod for finesse moving baits- small swim baits, underspins, small balsa flat sides, shad raps, even finesse jerk baits.

I initially bought this rod for drop shotting but it’s also great for wacky rigs and shakes heads.

This is easily one of my favorite rods and was my first Champion rod. I originally bought it for flukes, shakey heads, and have used it for those purposes, but also really love it for light texas rigged senkos, usually with 1/16 – 1/8oz bullet weights on a 4 or 5″ Senko. It’s significantly more sensitive than the Fury Series and really helps you detect those light bites with soft plastics and to feel the bottom. It casts and loads up really well and seems to handle the entire 1/4-3/4oz range. It is plenty powerful at pulling in fish and when setting the hook, and has just the right amount of forgiveness to keep fish on. I’ve also used it for some topwater including a whopper plopper 90 and like it for that as well as 3/8-5/8oz spinnerbaits, small chatterbaits in a pinch, as well as 1/4-3/8oz jigs. I find that this rod loads and casts MILES better than a 734 which is widely touted as the most versatile rod in each series. This is a much more fun rod to fish, and works so much better for single hook lures in the 1/4-1/2oz range I’ve found. Just a great rod that can be used for so many purposes and is one I’d recommend as an all purpose model.
