Barry Poulton –
I am a light tackle junkie and I like this rod a lot. It’s nice to have a well designed handle grip that supports my entire hand, compared to other shorter grips where the heel of your palm is hanging over the edge of the cork – this has nicest grip available (Sierra ultra finesse casting also does), good diameter, the grip on many other spinning rod brands in general are too skinny and too short. One thing, this rod is much stiffer than the traditional ultralight rod, I would rate this rod a light or medium light. But, very fun and comfortable to fish with, good sensitivity and plenty of backbone for larger fish. The guides are better quality than other brand panfish rods that have just stainless steel guide rings (those will groove over time). Good job with this design, Dobyns does many things right, after fishing with this and comparing them with other brands, this rod series is the one to get among the panfish rods.
