While I had hoped that this rod was USA-made, I couldn’t be happier with its performance! The taper/action on this thing is fantastic. First cast with 1/16oz jig far over-shot my anticipated target. I found that I had to temper my enthusiasm with fishing to bank and brush. 1/32oz results were equally impressive. But, the best part is the sensitivity in the tip. I’ve only used it on a 2-day crappie-fest, so far, and detecting takes was so easy. I boated 50 crappie, while tossing back even more bluegill, in that one autumn day. That sensitivity was missing from my previous crappie rig. Small reel, 4-lb mono & a couple of jigs made for 2 days of incredible fishing. Good job Dobyns!
