Capt. Jason Ellman –
As a guide in Northern Minnesota I need solid equipment that I can rely on everyday. This rod is it, and is my go-to rod for working Crappie and slip-bobbering Walleye. I use this rod to pitch light jigs, slip bobber, and cast light weight spinners/beetle spins. This rod has enough back bone to bury the hook in a 7lb Walleye and enough parabolic action to keep both Walleye and Crappies “pegged” without ripping the hooks out. You won’t be disappointed with the quality of this rod, and it has become one of my favorites.

I’ve tried all the big names in the trout & panfish world and these new Dobyns STP rods are better. The have plenty of backbone for the occasional beast but the ultralight tip offers fantastic control & feel. I use the STP791 for bobber fishing and bottom rig fishing with a 1/4oz sliding sinker. This rod LAUNCHES !!!!! It’s like a surf rod but for trout & panfish. This is a truly unique rod and still balances out great. Dobyns, you hit a homerun!!
