my father bought this rod a few days after they came out, and he loves it! I personally prefer the heavier 703 just for the fact that i like my rods a little heavier than most. I did use this rod fishing for smallmouth on Lake DuBay, Wi. for the College National Championship and it worked flawlessly! it is sensitive and well balanced with a nice soft tip. This rod is definitely worth the money.

Bought the FR 702SF for my guide service this spring. Used it for dropshoting and throwing the Yamamoto D Spot Shad all summer. The rods are light, sensitive and held up well. I ended up using it myself for dropshoting when fun fishing and in tournaments, too.

I’ve had this rod a little less than a year now. It’s got a softer tip than some on the market, but still has power enough to land a hog. Just the way I like them. Great price tag too!

OMG THE 702 mached with a Diawa BG 2000 takes my breath away. Strong and sensitive and power is an understatement.

Use this rod for shaky head worm fishing and other soft plastics with 15lb fluorocarbon line… Love the feel and has been very durable. Outstanding rod!!!!

Very impressive rod for the money! As the other reviewers have stated, the 702 has enough backbone to land a giant, but a soft enough tip to feel the lightest of bites. Landed 3 25”+ salmon that took my bait while dropshotting for smallmouth in Michigan this year, handled it like a champ! The grip is comfortable, and the shorter butt section also makes it ideal for kayak anglers. Highly recommended
