I reviewed the 745 and I feel the need to do it again.
THIS ROD IS JUST OUTSTANDING!!
It’s flipping time and WOW does the 745 standout!! Over the last couple of week flipping heavy cover the 745 has by far exceeded my expectations. The balance, sensitivity, and backbone power is unmatched.
Thank you for such a special rod and again I can’t recommend the 745 high enough.

Bottom line…I love this DX 745C FH. I have fished it now for a couple of months and again I simply it’s awesome. All bottom contact techniques are just amplified in a real positive way. The balance and control in all aspects are unmatched. From tip control to power, coupled with weight and comfort, pitching/flipping/casting are all equally special.
Highly recommend this rod!!

It’s already been said but this is an amazing jig rod. I typically don’t spend this kind of money on a rod but I bought this one for jigs and now I have two because the difference is well worth the money!

I have had this rod for almost 2 years now. This is my go to rod for pitching jigs and dragging them on the bottom. Rod is so sensitive and light weight, yet still had plenty of power. Only time I’ve felt I needed more rod, was when jumping to a 1oz jig. 1/2oz jig with trailer seems to be this rods sweetspot. Being able to speak with Gary directly on what rod I needed, was also a plus. I will be a Dobyns customer for life.

GREAT rod! This is the perfect rod for dragging a 3/4 oz football jig. I messed up and let my girlfriend use it one day and now she refers to it as HER rod. Oh well, now I have a good excuse for buying another one.

This rod fights like a heavy weight but weighs in as at the butterfly class. The power in this rod will rocket 2 pound fish out of the water, so make sure you’re after the big girls when you break out this beast. I have been amazed at how much power Dobyns has packed into such a lightweight rod. From the first time I picked this rod up, my jig hook ups have sky rocketed. There is no way to describe the power you get in this rod. I can fish 3/8 to 1 ounce jigs with ease, pitching and casting with pinpoint accuracy. Do yourself a favor and check this rod out, you won’t be disappointed.

Simply put, this is the best jig rod when fishing deeper than 20 feet. We do a lot of jig fishing in 30-60 feet here, and the backbone and quick taper really drill the hooks at any depth. It also excels at pitching around heavy cover. I typically throw 17# fluoro on this rod, and it’s a dream setup. Because it’s a DX, you won’t find a more sensitive and balanced deep jig rod.

This was my first Extreme. I called Dobyns Rods direct and spoke to Richard looking for direction on a jig rod. I told Richard the type of fishing, lure weights, reel type and the other criteria and this was the recommendation. Bought it sight unseen. Smokin’ rod ! incredibly light, active tip, balanced perfectly and power, lot’s of power.

Jig fishing is all about feel. The better your feel, the less snags you get and the more bites you detect. I tied up exactly the same jig on my previous favorite jig rod and alternated casts with it and the DX745C. I was floored at how much better the feel was on the DX745C–at first, I literally wanted to set the hook all the time because I was feeling so much more. When I’m on the hunt for big fish pitching jigs or casting football jigs, this is the rod I’m using.

The DX 745 is my “go to” Rod. I always have 2 of them prepared at all times in the boat. It has the length I need with a Carolina Rig to make those long drags as well the length and action I need to place a Jig where needed. I feel every piece of structure with this rod and I could not ask for anything better. AMAZING ROD

Jig or Carolina Rig…. Carolina Rig or Jig…. Can’t decide. It handles both with such ease.

I use the 745 dx exclusively for 3/8- 1/2 oz jigs and t rigged creatures for pitching/flipping/casting. The sensitivity is un-matched and plenty of power to move em out from cover and into the boat.
