If your a kayak angler and keep losing punching fish this is the rod for you the extra length give you the leverage you need to pull fish out of the thick shit and flip them right into the boat I have flipped 6 pounders on this rod no problems

I will be 65 in 2 days and Doug, YOU hit it absolutely right on the nail head, with you comment about weak hook set. I got this rod last week, and all the fish I missed on hooksets the week before, ended up in the boat on Sunday. Amazing rod, easy to pitch with and incredible power. On my Top 5 Must Have list too.

I learned a long time ago that added length increases hook-up ratio and the 805 FLIP/PUNCH carries on that same philosophy. You move more line in the same sweep movement by going with a longer rod which increases the hook-up ratio. But there are some very special characteristics to the Dobyns 805 FLIP/PUNCH. One thing I look for in any flipping stick is the backbone and this rod has the brute force to horse big fish from ANY cover but the unique feature is the tip action. It’s got it right with the perfect balance and tip to allow you to wear out those giants that still have a little fight left in them once displaced from their homes. If you flip and want to increase hook-up ratio or have a weak hookset this rod will help you add more fish to the livewell. It’s another in my Top 5 Must Have!
