This is the best Punch rod I have ever used. The tip is soft enough to not spook the fish when you pick up on him. The backbone is strong enough to pull big fish out of cover. I boat flipped 12lb redfish with it this weekend.
Thanks for making such great rods!!!

I use to hate Carolina Rigging until I recently got the Champion 804c. This is THE ULTIMATE Rigging Rod. Amazing the balance and feel from this rod and the amount of line you can pull when you set the hook. Think I might start Carolina Rigging a whole lot more now. It’s an effective technique but without the proper equipment I choose to avoid it. Not now! I can’t wait to use this rod for many other techniques like flippin and pitchin light jigs. I think this will be the perfect complete for them too. And even working small plastics with light weights. Another AWESOME Dobyns Development!

Yes, it is an awesome Carolina Rig Rod… But it doesn’t stop there! A-Rigs as someone else posted below is one thing this rod excels at and has quickly become my go to A-Rig rod. It is also a phenomenal chatterbait, buzzbait, and small swimbait rod!

I don’t throw C rigs at all. But I got this rod to throw lead head swimbaits. 1/2 oz Strike King Lead head with a 5 to 6 inch Shadilicious.. Excellent lead head rod. Great for flutter spoons and lighter A rigs. Also good for small 1 oz type swimbaits like a 5 or 6″ Bull Shad..

The great thing about Dobyns rods is even though a rod is made with a specific technique in mind they always have multiple uses. This Carolina Rigging rod is also perfect for pitching lighter baits, throwing smaller swimbaits and light umbrella rigs. Multiple techniques on a single rod equals value!

Designed for carolina rigging which it excels at this rod is a great rod for a-rig fishing. If you use lighter 1/8-1/4 oz weights this rod will throw the rig a long ways and loads up perfect on the strike. I also find it a very good flipping/pitching rod for weights up to 1/2 oz, and obviously the c-rig which it was designed for. One final use I like it for is horny toad type fishing. The 8 foot length allows long casts and easy to catch up to one that hits and runs toward the boat. Another great rod from Mr. Dobyns

This is a broomstick with a tip. Great rod for heavy cover.
