I fish a lot of harbors in SoCal and in the surf. This rod excels at tossing the Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 110 and other types of baits of similar size. The parabolic action is sweet and really compensates for the waves in the surf. I also take the rod out on the 3/4 and 1/2 day boats out of various SoCal Sport Fishing landings. It is a blast fishing anchovies fly lined or with a light (1/4 oz) sliding sinker. Tosses a ‘chovy a mile and has the backbone to get calicos out of the kelp. Caught Halibut, Barred Perch, Yellowfin Croaker, Calicos, Sand Bass, Spotted Bay Bass, Barracuda, Bonito and small Yellowtail. This rod is awesome light tackle fishing, more than just crank baits. I pair it with a Daiwa Exceller 100 or Shimano Curado 200. Oh yeah, every now and them, I will go cranking for LMB. This rods excels at that.

I love this rod for throwing a 1/2 ounce lipless crank baits and ripping it through grass. This rod has a great parabolic action to keep the fish pinned and not rip hooks out as well as being able to absolutely bomb baits.

The 764 CB RM is my go to rod for medium crank baits like the Sixth Sense 300DD and 6XDs. This rods loads up these crank baits very well during the cast and will flat out launch them. This is a critical point to ensure the crank bait will reach its diving depth. The fast tip keeps the bass from throwing the crank bait. Outstanding Crank Bait Rod!!

A versatile crank bait rod. I throw square bills all the way up to medium divers with this rod including deep divers when in a pinch.
